Oxfam in Nepal's Humanitarian and DRM Program emphasises dedicated focus to HDRM and ensures inter-thematic collaboration for enhanced humanitarian preparedness and response, resilience-building and local humanitarian leadership to support all our interventions in the country (including in Climate and Water, Gender Justice programs). The program builds on learnings and explores opportunities to contribute to the sector in Nepal given the severe disaster and climate risks as outlined in the external context.
Oxfam in Nepal is a strong advocate for local humanitarian leadership and provides significant support to partners to enhance their capacity in this area. We focus on local systems strengthening, Community Resilience, Anticipatory Action and Shock Responsive Social Protection and proactively engage with the Anticipatory Action Clinic.
We promote leadership of women in humanitarian preparedness, response and resilience building. Jointly working with Gender Justice program, we promote feminist local humanitarian leadership and support and strengthen capacities of WROs/WLOs working in humanitarian settings.
