A WASH program under Purnima, a UK support to Post-Earthquake Recovery in Nepal is currently being implemented by Oxfam in Nepal in partnership with local organizations in Gorkha, Dhading, Nuwakot and Lalitpur districts since September 2017 with funding support from DFID and administrative support from Mott MacDonald.
So far, this WASH program has constructed 106 water supply systems directly benefitting 46,802 community people as of 2019. Currently, 35 water supply systems are under construction which will benefit 17,374 vulnerable people who previously did not have safe access to water, sanitation and hygiene behaviors.
In Dhading district alone, Oxfam in Nepal in partnership with Prayas Nepal, Focus Nepal and Action Nepal has completed 24 water supply systems, benefiting 16,945 vulnerable people. Ten schemes are under construction which will serve 8,171 people in coming days.
